Who’s Mapped Their 150s?!

The REVO website says there is currently no software available for the T6 102 ps engine, so something is up. Wanted this too.

I noticed that too, but only for the Euro6 engine, the Euro5 seems OK.
I'm not actually sure which one mine is - how do you find out?

Just found out - Euro6 is post-Sept 2016 registered vehicles. Mines a 17 plate so looks like I'm out of luck.

I guess I could go to another person for the mapping but its a bit of a worry that Revo are not interested in doing them.

Pendle seem to be the other popular and reliable re-map, from what people say on here....

Pendle remapped my 2003 Caravelle and I was well impressed. Once I got over the extra horses it was much nicer to drive, with power on tap through the rev range but especially low down where these vehicles need it most in my opinion. I also found it more economical if driven 'normally'. I'll look at Revo when my warranty runs out in March but Pendle are top of my list for now.

Yes at present REVO have pulled their software due to issues with the turbos on a T6 102, even in standard vehicles. We are offering full refunds to anyone who’s had theirs mapped with us. The problem is with the turbo not the map.

Had my 68 plate 150 DSG mapped by Revo - massive difference in the drive, so much more torque and much nicer to drive as a result. Hardly need to touch the throttle on hills and the whole vehicle responds much more quickly and smoothly, not in a revvy way, just a wave of torque pushing you along.

Now no need to worry about joining fast roads or slowing on hills when loaded. I have not scientifically proven MPG but on regular trips I do I was getting typically 37-38 mpg and since the remap I have seen 40-41 and this is on B roads, A roads and bypasses for the same journeys of 65 miles so well pleased with the remap.

I thought I would email Revo just to get it from the horses mouth. They responded pretty quickly with the below - got to admire them for honesty here. Fair play.

“Having seen a small percentage of mechanical failures to turbos on vehicles whether stock, Revo tuned or using other tuning software, we have decided after careful consideration to stop offering Revo ECU Software for the Euro 6 VW T6 Transporter 84/102PS version. We are not comfortable to continue to cater for a vehicle we know can have inherent issues and weaknesses from the factory.

There are a number of factory revisions of the turbocharger already due to reliability issues and other factors that can put stress on the turbo: DPF loading, poor quality oil/servicing, low oil levels, oil pressure issues etc, We aren’t willing to spoof the factory warranty and rely on the manufacturer to resolve problems that we are aware could happen, Revo’s ethos is to enhance our customer’s vehicles to give them a better driving experience whilst retaining reliability’’

We hope that VW find a resolution and can get back to offering a solution for the 102, as it is very much needed given the lack of factory power these derivatives have.”

Indeed. They have their reputation to protect.

Have any other remap companies stopped products for these engines?

As above I also hunted down a year Euro 5 when I bought mine. Mine has a Revo and its way better than the Pendle I had removed from my old T5.

Might let my local tuning company map the old girl.
What’s people’s responses ?

had my 170 A3 done years ago, and it ran 206, 330ft lbs. and it was ace!!

Not yet but it's on the cards. Everything has gone to the right due to the lockdown here.

Why the need for additional power / speed? My 150 van’s my chill machine and I’ll get there when I do. Too much congestion on the road and speed cameras to enjoy...

not where I live my friend, I just wanted some more torque. A map brings the car alive. Always has done. I don’t drive fast in the van. Just a want, not a need.

Wills, this might come across as a contradiction, but I agree with you even though last week I got my 140 mapped to 175.
It's not that I wanted to go faster, I'm a steady driver, but I wanted the whole driving experience to be a bit more relaxed, and it is. I find that I can hold on to a gear now, without labouring the engine, whereas before I would have had to change down a gear, for a slight incline. I also often find myself changing in to a higher gear just a little bit sooner when accelerating, without using more revs to get there.
Basically it is the extra torque that is probably more important than the extra horsepower.

You buying my alloys then?

I'll give you an unopened packet of 12 Andrex quilted for them if you're interested?
You were typing much faster than me, when I started your post wasn't there!!!:(
