Wolfbox G900 Dash and rear view camera

The hard wire option is better IMO I have the wolfbox G840s (£127 on Amazon about 6 months ago - discounted price - quite often discounted) I didn't need the extended kit as mine's a SWB. The hardwire kit I bought was a cheap one and caused me a load of grief. I bought a second hard wire kit after wasting 4hrs on the cheapo one from halfords that worked fine. I went in the central row on the fusebox from a spare so it's switched live. I wired in to the reverse light wire but it was a bit of a stretch to where I wanted to place the RVcam (I coulda probably extended the connection to the reverse light but I got overwhelm hehe) so couldn't get my RV camera very close to center. When I used the cam with the reversing lines it really wasn't worth the effort tbh so I removed the reverse light wire connection and I could get the cam very close to center after that (barn door - to the very right of the plastic trim above number plate) The cam that came with mine was the cube one on hinges

It's been fine for the most part. My only niggle is that the start stop can cause it to shut the camera down at times. If you don't start the van (after turning ignition on) before the camera boots up fully the camera will turn off when your engine starts hehe Having it plugged into the cig lighter is a constant live so yes you'd have to turn it off or risk the battery drain. Good luck with it and apologies for the essay

That’s great, I appreciate the detailed write up. I fitted a spoiler last weekend and decided to fit the camera on the underside of it. It gives a good field of vision being high up. That said, it’s a bit odd sitting in traffic and seeing drivers behind lit up by my brake lights in 2.5k UHD. It gives the kids a laugh that’s for sure.

I’ll take your advice on not cheaping out on the hardwire kit as that’s exactly what I was about to do!
