907 gas refill cost

Once again with various prices around the country is this not a case of filing your own?? plenty posts on what equipment you need to do it with success .It's not a new thing to decant from one bottle to another .done it for years decant propane from the bottles at work also pure argon for our home tig welders which is a bit more complicated because argon bottles have a non return valve. Just think as filling your butane lighter same principle.
Just filled my 907 bottle for my cadac cost approx £2:50

Following Summer Camp, just refilled our 907 with 1.5kg from a 15kg Calor bottle. Not a difficult process with the correct gear from B.E.S. 98% full, it will last our Scottish trip with no worries now.

If you are using the gas canisters rather than the 907 bottles. This would allow it to work with a dial ring hob. I have done it in a push.

It would supply two rings, but if you do that and a grill. It might then struggle.

But from the comments above, I believe there to be a difference in performance between the following two
gas1.jpg
and
gas2.jpg

The top one being wider has much more surface area to allow the liquid gas to "deliquefy", so maintains a better pressure. Yes they both work but might not be truly equal even though the bottom type are much cheaper!

Bit confused what do actually get for that price is the €72 a empty bottle and the €92 full??

That's how I read it, but to be fair it does appear to be written in an obscure French dialect!

I read it as 58.72 for a full one too but it’s all different round these parts, not just how they write stuff - the arrows in a one way system around car parks apparently mean the opposite to arrows in England!

Just back from Silverstone...

Looks like my bros 907 has lasted him for about 2 weeks of camping days.

Running a 4 burner Planchette hot plate thing.

Not bad for a £15 refill.

..

Now time for a top-up refill.

.

A very nice breakfast indeed although I like my sausages slightly more charred ;)
Cumberlands apparently. Were very nice...

They had Black Pudding too, but I couldn't bring myself to eat that...soz for the Black pud lovers.

It's just not my thing.

i have a question for you very clever Gas knowledgeable people. . .

we have one of these from Costco from the other month,

finally come to give it a test run.

1725095873362.png1725095884212.png1725095893473.png

i want to run it off a 907, as i have a few spare and its more convienient.

i checked the book,

it says Butane is ok at 28-30 mBar,

1725095980254.png

and i checked the Reg` and it shows 29mBar, so thats a match.

1725096015276.png1725096029579.png

the issue and problem seems to be that the 907 is freezing causing low pressure and flame out - not good as its not got a saftey shutoff.

the books shows a burn rate of 1273 g/h.

so whats the max g/h the 907 + reg can do?

is it the Mg 0.8Kg.h @ 29mbar? - on the Reg?

1725096155342.png

....

if thats the case then maybe the 800g/h cant keep up with the burn rate of 1273g/h?

--

there is a high and low setting on the fire pit. . so ill try the lower setting.

in any case.

what is the run time i can expect for a full 907?

at either 1273g/h?

or if the max is 800g/h, then whats the max run time at that rate?

assuming is the 4.5Kg devided by the 0.8Kg/h? - 4.5/0.8= 5.6hrs

...

or by writing this all out, and going through it.

have i just answered my own question?.

++++++

more details.

this is what it come with. . .

and looks like that reg can do 1.5Kg/hr,

thats 1500mg/hr -- so more than enough to keep the heater going full steam.

.

looks like if i want to use the 907, ill just have to go easy on it and keep to the low setting.. . .

basically the burner can use gas faster than the reg can deliver it.

.

back on the 907 gas bottle. . .

we used this HeaterBuddy gas heater at Silverstone last week.

they work great.

1725174873434.png

but the Propane gas bottles are expensive, . . .

1725174962491.png

+++

so we got the converter adapter and uses these C500 cans instead.

  • 'Comes with adapter for butane and propane cartridges with EN 417 thread (7/16 x 28 UNEF)

the question is. . . . what do i need to get this running off a 907 gas bottle. . . . . ?

.

Is it safe to run a gas heater like that inside ie open flame
Personally I've always been paranoid about carbon monoxide
But I could be totally wrong
