Sorry if this has all been covered before, this is my first post and I am also new to the VW T6, I'm another one looking at 225/65/r17 BFG AT KO2 for my 2018 204 DSG 4M Caravelle (completely standard with 17" Devonports).
I just have a few questions;

1, Will they fit my vehicle without any modification or risk of rubbing ?
2, Will it effect insurance ?
3, Will it effect VW warranty ?

Another vote for the Michelin Agilis crossclimates. Had them about 6 weeks, 4 of which in Scotland, Orkney and North west Scotland and really like the feel of them on wet and dry roads, good on gravel and muddy tracks. Starting off on steep hills used to be a nightmare with the original Contivan tyres with loads of wheel spin. These new tyres just grip the wet (and it has been very wet) tarmac or loose surface and away we go.

They are a larger tyre, is yours an Exec (these are 20mm lower than an SE )?
I think you'll probably get away without spacers on the wheels; but for me I'd fit them anyway 25mm on each corner, they look so much better and it creates space on maximum compression of the suspension; and space on maximum steering lock.
If you don't fit spacers, I don't think you'll suffer more than an occasional rubbing sound of the tyre on the plastic wheel arch liner.
If you choose spacers look for TUV approved imo; HR spacers are probably the rolls-royces choice.
To be safe you should consider mentioning it to your insurers, you could tell them you need them for off-road and winter use.
Never heard of anybody having warrantee issues with oversized tyres.

Have you consider the above?
They have 3pmsn designation so they are certified for winter use, the BFG KO2 don't have this rating.
We have run nearly every BFG/GG/Cooper AT tyres on our Double cabs over the years. This is our new favourite AT tyre, much better road manners than most; full winter rating/all-season; last along time; and on a 4wd tons of off roads grip.
102 load rating so fine for Vels (not T32's)

Hi, yes it is an Exec, I had not considered the Pirelli due to the load rating however as you say it’s a T30 not 32, so with a Exec I will likely require spacers ?

thank you for your help and advice

It will be very close,
If its going to rub, it will probably be on a B road doing 60mph and hitting a bump in the road;
or off road driving slowly with maximum axel articulation, and maximum steering lock.
But if I was guessing, I think you'll get away with out them

So I will need spacers or do you mean that it will be very close even with spacers fitted ?

I think I would fit them anyway just to be sure and it will look better.

No; with spacers (25mm or similar) you will be 100% fine
Without spacers it will be close

Awesome, thank you, 25mm HR Spacers it is.

Pirelli Scorpion ATP's do look very nice........ decisions decisions
I think:
BFG KO2 : Better off road
AT+ : Better on road : (3PMSN rating so may be better in winter ice?, edit "both tyres have 3PMSN rating" - edited) It would be full full on off-roading with a 4 motion to need more off-road grip than these can give imo.

Both tyres look well up for it imo.
Lets us know which way you go

To add to this my BFG KO2's say M&S but also have the snowflake/mountain symbol which I thought to mean has passed the minimum standards, ie, 3PMSF. Happy to be corrected but I've just checked on the Goodyear website to confirm!

Thats interesting; I've seen them in the UK without the 3PMSN symbol; I think last time I looked on the their UK website there was no mention of it.
Perhaps there are market specific variants.

ANYBODY RUNNING BFG KO2 IN THE UK, CAN CONFIRM "3PMSN " ON THEIR SIDE WALLS?????

POST EDITED

Hi all,

Now not to pee anyone off but have read through the thread and am none the wiser in what I want... I know, but I am fairly new to this and am like a kid in a candy shop... please bear with me!

Anyways, I like the semi-swamper look, so am considering adding wheel arch trims (depending on how they look with vw carbon splitter / spoiler - does anyone has any photos of a similar setup?) to my T32 4 Motion. I'm also having vb air added at some point in the near future and I am really not sure what wheel/tyre combo to go for... I liked the Michelin agilis cross climates but they only go up to a 17 inch wheel.

In terms of van use it will be usually on-road, distance travel, dry/muddy fields, occasional off road / alpine use. They need to be good in both mud and snow - don't really want to have to worry about changing tyres through the year so they need to be good all rounders with little or no impact on mpg and not to be any worse on road noise than the current factory fit...

Any and all advice welcome!! Thanks!

CZ.

Hi,

I run 235/70 R16 Pirelli Scorpion AT on steel wheels, very happy no rubbing on full lock, considering of adding 20-30mm spacer just to make them look better.

If your steel wheels are standard VW T5/T6 ET Off-Set; then I would recommend 25mm per wheel spacers all round; go for a Hub-centric spacer, and consider TUV Approved.
They will look so much better.

How's that going @g4r1 ? They are a lot bigger than standard tyres so how does your speedo read? Presume you're also on a 204?

It's T6 140 DSG Kombi Highline T30, speedo is off by 2 mph. Otherwise, they are great. Running for 11 months, done 9k and so far no complaints.

Hi, how do they perform on a wet road? I'm currently running Pirelli Scorpion ATR and was wondering if the wet road handling is any better on Pirelli Scorpion AT+. I'm thinking of getting a set of 235/65/17s
