Does the centre bore matter then? I was guessing as long as the pcd it 5x120 they’d slap on, would just be a case of getting some aftermarket centre caps to fill the hole?

I’m only basing it from my old defender, I used to have some factory steels then bought some modular wheels and I’m sure I had to find new center caps. Maybe I imagined it...

I was going to buy the Tuff Torque 18x8” for a discovery 3 but they have the wrong centre bore. Definitely a no go then? 72.5mm centre bore I think they are so bigger than t6.

A quick google says they definitely need the correct centre bore.

I guess you could use a set of center bore adapters, they are available on ebay for under £10

Has anyone considered Terrafirma modular steels 18x8, they are looking quite good and rated upto 1500kg ?

After hunting around for some black 16" steels, I gave up and just got my standard silver steels shod in a set of BF Goodrich All Terrains. I stuck with the standard size (215/65/R16) as I didn't want to upset the speedo or insurance. I am happy with how they look and the ride.
Once the weather warms up again I will paint the wheels black, but for now silver...20191209_102741.jpg

Cant wait to see how these bad boys will look on the van, hopefully get time tomorrow

Very nice indeed, look forward to seeing them on the van.
If possible, could you measure the diameter in mm?
I have put the size into willtheyfit.com, and wanted to know if the deeper tread of an AT tyre adds anything to the diameter.

I’m hoping I can squeeze either a 235/55/19 or maybe a 255/55/19 using the same make and model of tyres as you.
I was going to go with the KO2, but I do a bit too much motorway for such an aggressive tyre.

Are you fitting a lift kit as well, I think I might have to if I stick with the 19s (wolfrace X10).

TIA

Deaks :)

Pics tomorrow. Yeah I'm fitting the lift kit as well. I had a bit of trouble finding the general grabbers, apparently a shortage just now, local tyre place saying late jan/early Feb. Few places online did have them but wouldn't post to the highlands. Pneus online were the best price I could get at £104.

Warlords are on and very pleased with the result, I know the van is in dire need of a wash, next job on the list. Should look even better with the lift kit.

@Deaks I measured the diameter and tyres are approx 73.5cm diameter to the very edge of the tread, hope that helps.

Wheels look great!!
Thanks for checking the size for me, that is pretty much spot on with what will they fit.com say.

Do you reckon there is enough clearance for another half inch diameter of wheel?

I think it’s a bit tight at the back of the rear wheel arch, hopefully a heat gun could help if need be.

@Deaks it will be very tight, hopefully you can see the gap on mine, bit of the liner seems to have a bit of a bulge, bit more room at the front.

... is the tire not too wide compared to the rim? .... for me the tire pushes too much ...

Looks perfect to me. You need more tyre than rim if you're going anywhere near mud, rocks or generally any rural road.

..but ... it will be like this .. but my BGs, as well as those of Branwell, do not bump in that way and I have no problem in the mud or on the stones ...

Had a few inches of snow fall late morning today, work van was useless, mine with the general grabbers felt like it would go anywhere. Had to give an old boy in a jaguar x type a tow on the way home, his front tyres were right on the legal limit and least incline and he couldn't move.

Kiter, those tyres and wheels look fantastic!
I'm running on 235/55/18 which apparently is 3% larger circumference than stock.
Have you noticed any effect on gearing?

Not so far but they only went on the van at the weekend and not been far and anywhere today was at low speeds. Pleasantly surprised at noise level, don't notice much difference over the nokians.

AT3s do it again.......top tyres!
