i'm going through the same decision making process.
wanna go for AT3's in 235/55 r18 OR 235/60 r18
difference is a speedo error of 4,16% or 7,21%

i've got a t6.1 Cali with 215/65 r16 tyres 2WD manual gearbox.

since i'm lowered, i wanna fill the arches, the 235/60 will do a better job (differs 10mm with the 235/55)

If you look at "T5 upgrades" at facebook , they almost always seem to opt for 235/65 r17 , that's about the same as the 235/60 r18

I’ve searched and searched but cannot find a website that shows a two tone California in White/ Bronze so I can put wheels to see which colour to buy ? Anybody know of such a website ?

The only thing you have to watch for is the age of the tyre you receive. A member on mytreg.com received a set of tyres that were new but 4 years old according to the 4 digit manufacturing code on the sidewall.
Age is important too. Nearly all tyres have the week and year of manufacture embossed into the sidewall as a 4 digit code. I recently spotted some new / unused winters for sale, with date code 4814 on the sidewall - week 48 2014. 6 years old, so I didn’t buy.

Now I agree with that to a degree.
Most tyre people will agree that rubber degradation is caused by UV exposure, so in theory a set of winter tyres would of been used in low UV periods and then hopefully stored indoors during the summer, thus extending their lifespan considerably over a normal set of summer tyres. So although I don't advocate buying tyres that are years and years old, I think i'd be comfortable with a set of correctly used winter tyres that were several years old at least.
This is an argument that crops up constantly in my industry, where Caravans sit for long periods in one spot, but it's advised tyres are changed every 4 years, yet i've seen tyres much older than 4 years that have been on Caravans stored indoors or with wheel covers on, meaning they look like brand new still. A debate that will rattle on for years to come.

I’d certainly look at the date when deciding but to be fair, I’ve got a set of winters for the wife’s car that I got in 2013 and they’re still nice and serviceable.

I just replaced the tyres on Loz Jr's learner car, it is a 2010 Corsa Design with 30K on the clock, original tyres with 6mm tread all round but perished in between the treads and got an advisory in last years MOT so had to replace them this year. I fitted some Nokian all seasons..

I guess some people are prepared to take risks others are not. I’m happy to pay more to ensure the 4 tiny patches of rubber connecting me to the road are optimised. In the scheme of things medium quality tyres are not that expensive. On my other car I’ve changed legal tyres as they were 6 years old and had gone hard even though in darkness most of the time.

I wonder if the mod’s could move the debate to a new thread - I seem to have derailed the OP’s for sale thread albeit is an interesting topic
thread merged with one that covers the topic, albeit briefly.

I've got 235/55/18 on steels and I personally wouldn't want to raise the gearing any more so I wouldn't go with 235/60/18.

Steels plus AT tyres will be my one and only mod when I get my T30 SWB in the new year. Id like to keep with 16 inch wheels, how big can i go without having to resort to spacers ?

235/70/16 seems to be the biggest without clearance issues

Hi folks
Tyre time again !
Running Goodrich AT 2 at 225 65 R17. Load rated at 107.
Love them but fuel economy is poop and they are unfortunately expensive. Looking at £150 fitted.
Thinking of something cheaper, a lot cheaper if I'm going to swap brands.
1 What load ratings do I need for a LWB T32 ?
2 any recommendations ?

Thanks
Grant

I was so close to fitting 225/65/17 Pirelli Scorpion AT+ to my Devonports; but I got hold of some 18" Amarok wheels as freebies, and that snookered that, as the Pirelli's aren't available in a suitable 18" size.
We are currently running these tyres on our Amarok (275/55/20), and they are the best AT tyre we have ever run, they compare to the road bias tyres that came as stock in terms of noise/comfort/MPG etc, and are more than good enough off-road. For us, they hit the sweet spot, as all tyres are a compromise in one way or another.
As our Vel is 4mo with rear difflock, it is inconceivable that I would ever need the off-road ability of these tyres, as my current directional M&S 3PMSF All-seasons/All-weathers can do more than enough; however, that's my head speaking; my heart ❤️wants these....... And to top it off with a set of OZ racing ralley raid from @BognorMotors .........ohhhhhhh, I wonder what santa may bring.....

What are the tyres? I can not make them out. Interesting detail in the tread design!
