Dellmassive`s Camper Van Adventure

OVANO seat base rear covers.

we see these at Busfest and liked the look of them,

they match our OVANO bed system, and cover the holes in the seat, the drivers base has a battery in, and the passenger base has the EHU stuff - that we dont use anyway.

so the Blanking panels seemed like a good option to tidy up the area.

they can be screwed on from inside the seat base. . .

but i decided to try out Velcro for now. . . these are semi permanent and will come out again,

and with the Velcro its easy to pop then and get to the bits under the seat. . .

.
A very productive day. When I put the seat bases in i used a flat bit and sunk 2 5mm magnets in to the panel. Click and forget. Strong as well so no rattle but easy access.

The interior . . . .

well after flip flopping and u turning way to many times.

i think we have a made a decision.

the 120 bed seems to have been phased out.

we made up our bed with storage boxes to simulate the standard 2/4 112 bed width, and well have to make do.

there will always be the rull width bed in the roof anyway if things get too tight.

weve decided to downgrade from the rails system, and upgrade the bed from the RNR to the RIB.

there are many reasons for all the above. but the long and short is the rail system is way more expensive and needs a pro fitter to be done properly.

where as the other options, i can do myself - with some help.

ie

remove kombi 1+1+1 system, seats, brackets, seatbelts, floor etc.- offer for sale on T6F
remove the OVANO - offer for sale on T6F
install one piece floor,
install flatpack kitchen cabinetry,
install fixed RIB bed.

well get prices for fitting as well. - but the first place we spoke to wanted £500 just to remove the kombi stuff!!

+++++++++++

so what we looking at?

this slate grey / dark grey panels with Oak worktop and splash back.

soft close, pop out buttons,
high level lockers
and the Boss wants the pull-out draws under the bed.

+++++++++

as we both decided we didnt want to do cooking inside,
but water and sink WAS required,
a lot of these builds come with the Dometic 9222 or whatever it its call, so we thinking about getting that fitted, and either not using the gas hob,
or maybe just hooking up a C500 can as at temp?

we are also very interested in the Microwave thing, as well as out small kettle and CTIZ coffee machine.

i think well just have to get it fitted. . . then just find out where to put stuff.

theese guys also off the floor as well, 9mm or 12mm etc.

......

as for the bed. . .

it seems that the RIB Altair 112 is best suited for us.

so we might be able to get the floor, bed, and kitchen for 4-6K.

++++++++++

now we need to get some prices together,

and one place is in Thetford, only 2hrs away from us. for an eyeball.

.

+++++++++++++

the other big deal is . . . poptop or interior first?

we know we would like the VANMAX poptop.

so was planning on getting that fitted first, and having the interior done next?

thoughts?

your 1+1+1 is also worth a pretty penny so could recoup some of the cost of the RIb

great idea. . . ill bear that in mind.

i have a load of neodymium magnets that would work.

can you post a few pics of yours and how/where you fitted them pls.

Why wouldn’t you get the roof done first? You can then trim before fitting the kitchen. Apart from anything else you can pop it to make fitting the interior easier

yes, that's the plan - roof first (vanmax), then floor, bed, kitchen after.

was asking opinion's to see if people agree.

I've just been doing the same Kombi to camper but have kept one set of brackets and the seat belt so it stays as a five seater, just removing the single seat when we’re overnighting to give room for the R&R bed
I got my one piece floor from Vanbus on here it is a good quality ply and an excellent fit, he cnc cut round the seat brackets etc for me and I would recommend them
Hurry up please as I would like to follow your kitchen fitting tips etc :)

I remember going back and forth on the rails, debating the trade-off between bed width and storage. Ultimately, I couldn’t justify the extra expense, especially with concerns about the grooves and little toes.

Honestly, since having the RIB installed and fixed, I haven’t once had a real need to move the bed. I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine without it too.

And I definitely wouldn’t want any less storage, storage is invaluable in a small space!

We had a Very Productive day yesterday . . . . we had the first bit of sun I've seen for what seems like months,

and no rain or work. So i had a rummage through the pile of upgrades that has been amassing since the end of last season.

...

Kombi seat bracket blanks.

if you know, you know . . . and those floor brackets are very ouchie on your feet and knees when staying out in the van.

View attachment 275867

they just clip in and save your knees and toes . . . . they work well, but a bit pricey for what they are.

.

How much were the blanks and where did you pick them up from?

Thanks
Paul

Can I ask what pattern is on the 1+1+1? Could be interested to change for my 2+1 set up.
12 kombi points.

4x for each chair.

I'll get a pic.....

THQ, and a set of 4 was £24!!!

We would need three sets..

So I decided to get two sets and just do the fronts that were most accessable.

Front Grill Trims. . .

The BUS was built as a Trendline, so it has this grill. (1x silver strip)

1740386688427.png

and the VAN was built as a Sportline, so has the 3x silver strips.

1740386802341.png

i bought these of a T6F member, . . . . as spares for the VAN, or maybe fit on the BUS?

1740386894689.png

1740387043643.png

The question is - can i fit the extra trims in the Trendline grill and fit them to the BUS?

do they just clip on any grill?

or do i need a different grill?

asking before i go dismantling the front bumper if i dont need to . ?

.

I seem to remember the caravelle grill (which is I think what you have on the van) is different to the standard grill so at least can’t take the top silver trim. I have a standard grill in the garage so I can take a look but I’m thinking a different grill is needed to take them

Just seen the for sale thread; these definitely won’t fit a t6. Let me know if you still want to see the back end of a standard grill

Hmm... If that's the case then I'll have to sell them on.
