Eyelets in ceiling for storing long items with bungees e.g. surf board

For me I would tighten the straps so its held tight against the ceiling and doesn't have any fore or aft movement.

I've put a few M6 rivnuts in like this for surfboards and they work a treat. Does anybody know how much weight the ceiling can support like this? Contemplating hanging a couple of emtbs upside down from the ceiling with a slide out rack but obviously don't want pull in the ceiling!

Just come across this thread, one question. In a smash, or in fact , any sudden stop. What's to stop the board flying forward?

I stuck an extra eyelet in at the centre back. This gives another lashing point to stop movement in the lengthways plane

I've now sold my Amish bike and bought an Ecstasy bike. It's too heavy for this setup. But it's still useful to store just my front wheel and with some netting, damp clothes
