Lazer Lamps

Hi, does anyone here have the Lazers installed BEHIND the Grille (between the back of the grille and the front of the cooler)? I wonder if this is a good idea, not sure if I want to cut the grille…
and I like the chrome lines with my highline grille too much…
Hi @DJ821 guess it depends on your grille. This is Def and option for the Ford Transit custom which I have. I also did not want to mess with my Raptor grille. Obviously lights sit further back and are more discrete. I like the look. In terms of any shadow etc... the lights are so bright on full beam I doubt you'd notice. They also help with main beam just. I'm sure the secure brackets for behind grille could be custom fit for VW T6.

Hi @ChrisBell that gives me hope... I like the discrete look. And I too do think that the shadows are overbeamed by the brightness of the LEDs. So this is the next project then... just need to collect some money :)
by the way: I very much like your motto "performance through planning" :D !

I cant find anything on Ford Transit Lazer Lights installation behind a grill

Def there! Some people don't realise till you pull back the lever and blind them!

Are these wired up to be position lights too @ChrisBell or just main beam? Smart by the way!

i guess I‘ll make a simple mock-up/ model with a 3d printer and simply make a test with the installation behind my t6 grille and see if it works.

Cheers @T6ARF wired up all ways. Albeit something must've happened with the daylight running wiring. They are on with sides, main beam and then full beam at present. Often just drive with side lights on for the craic! Wee bit different on a custom!

These sound perfect…. something I’ve been considering for a while! I’d be interested to see a picture of them on with the sidelights if you could sometime please? Cheers @ChrisBell

Your wish is my command lol. Hopefully these show what you are looking. Some purists I think have said the light colour is slightly different shades but I'm not fussed! Same night same van same time.... Second photo done with long exposure.... Not really sure what that does!

Have a go at a mounting for the lights in or behind the lower grille too. There could me a market for a 2 up 2 down set up.

I was looking at how the Transit behind the grille mounts and was thinking on a two below with a mesh grille in front. I have seen this before with light bars. I will find a picture.

Mounting in the fog lights would be another idea

I'll check that... but it will take some time, it's too cold now outside in my drive :)
Probably I'll do the model between chrismas and new year's and the see how to go on.

Pushed the button and bought the cheap (?!!) lights for my old T5.1

I was looking at the 'position lights' options ie yellow and white, any thoughts?

Anyone know the right wires to hit on the nearside lamp connectors?

Seen some info on both yellow and white options via a switch. You should get your monies worth and get position lights wired in... Will not regret it!

Are there any other quality alternatives out there to Lazer for the T6 that I'm missing. I love the Lazer product, but haven't had great dealings with them as a company (through work, not personal) and it annoyed me enough that I'm not keen to give them my cash, but that may be just cutting off my own nose to spite my face since I think they are the best product out there!!

Right ordered a pair of same style 4pin plugs. I will run a fourth wire back to the location of the relay and get a suitable swith to run both lights through, ie 6 pin, 3 position, 2 circuits if you know what I mean (not sure what its called), and put them into a waterproof box somewhere near the battery.

I found this instead of splicing into the loom

Sold out but I can make one, anyone now where I can get a plug and socket for 5.1 Caravelle lights or ideally a short extension all built?

I have a switch to turn high beam through the Lazers, which I will mount somewhere on the dash

Hella Black Magic look pretty decent for a fraction on the price.

I can't comment on how they compare to Lazers in terms of performance. Also, you'll need to fabricate your own mounting solution.
