I am pretty sure it is (i didnt do all of this), but let me go visit m relative and I'll check.. Also, have a plug in voltmeter for the LB 12v outlet and a clamp style meter coming tomorrow.. to actually see better whats going on
If anyone has humble pie to sell, I need to buy some.
My diagram mislead me as well as anyone. The van earth at the back was connected to the battery. So was connected to the shunt.. (and that should have been the ONLY thing connected there)
I have taken that van earth and connected it to the -ve Bus bar, and reconnected it.. and it was the same
For a few seconds then my previous +.07 became -0.07, and the screen started its pulsing display and a healthy 5A or so on tickover appeared..
Thanks @Dellmassive for your help and patience. You got me thinking on the right lines, and the 5am youtube vid helped.. (First one I had seen visually where just one cable was connected to the LB -ve terminal, although in retrospect I probably heard it more than once. I think I separated all the shunt stuff from the general ground stuff in my head.
Of course , buying test equipment I wont now need prob helped things along
