Show Us Your T5.1 Then

Just picked up this beauty on Friday after handing back a 2019 T6 Highline Kombi company vehicle a few weeks ago. She’s a 2015 T32 Highline Kombi 140 6spd manual with low miles. Learnt heaps from the forum already… now to empty my bank account (even more) ready for next summer!

thoughts on those roof bars?? I’m unsure, so they might be up for grabs if anyone is interested. Also ignore the different number plates, previous owner had private plates on.

how do you find the comparison between the two vans?

I’ve only driven the T5.1 back down south from Birmingham, so not spent too much time driving her yet, also the T6 was a DSG which was nice, but not flawless (didn’t fancy reverse sometimes!)

T6 pros:
- steering is smoother and generally is a more car like driving experience, sharper looks, improved dashboard.

T5 pros (so far):
- feels like a more solid build - sliding door is definitely better built and smoother, gearbox is a dream and feels bomb proof (i hope I don’t regret saying that one day).

Sorry not particularly comprehensive, but like I say I’ve only spent a few hours in my T5.1!

I ran a t6 kombi 204 dsg with top spec, sun roof twin sliders etc and then at the same time had my t5.1 4motion, we eventually got rid of the t6 always a EML issue didn’t feel as solid etc etc, the paint was oryx Pearl and really wasn’t great from factory.
I think the t5.1 is the sweet spot.
Miss the modern looking dash and like you say sharper lines to the bodywork and the leds that’s it really. Just age if the t5.1s now, mine could really do with a respray.
Enjoy the van

This helps me stop lusting over a new van  I have a new engine in my 5.1 DSG 4motion Caravelle, body has a few blemishes and I love it for this. I am planing to keep it a while and buy an old Italian car for some fun instead

Same, just done 102k and I will get a respray as/when/if I ever want or can afford, the van gives me what I want, workhorse and camper/day van. I’d rather spend on enjoying it and going places. My lad can sit on the roof when we’re watching motorsport and I don’t worry

I have been saving for some type of old car for a while. Not really knowing what. We were at Goodwood in the Summer for an off-road experience and there was an Alfa OC track day.

We had a wander about the track when they all stopped. Got to sit in a few and chat to the drivers. Lovely day.
