Stop/Start Not Working

Thanks.
It seems that engine "25796" and battery regulator "02252 Generator" are related. Similar faults ---> VW T6 stop start error message in dash, also some commonalities ---> Too Many OBDii Faults For My Liking!

Was just "hoping" the sensor would have been disconnected as the battery was disconnected ;)

Re the "15360256" does the radio + it's functions all work ---> Fault code

I'm not sure if "00035" really belongs to Aux.heater.

Of course could try to clear the faults and see which ones actually remain and which just have been glitches - possibly caused by battery disconnect.

Clear them all. Drive it half an hour and see what comes back up.
like before some of the faults are only there for a millisecond but remain stored as a fault.

Thanks for the suggestions mmi. Sadly the errors persist. Infotainment system works fine as far as I can tell.

The only other non-standard item which might affect the electrics is a Ghost immobiliser which was fitted last year - everything was working ok after that was fitted. The stop-start was working after I disconnected the vehicle battery during the solar panel fitting too.

Looking at the links you sent, there are some continuity tests I can try. I was shocked when dealer suggested removing dash! Vehicle less than three and a half years old.

I've had stop start error message before turns out it was battery monitoring control module. That was code 00458 though... Hope you get it sorted

Could a leisure battery effect the stop start and bring in the error.?? Vcds brings up only 2 faults. Wheel diameter( would that effect it it comes on after faults cleared and stationary) and quiescence voltage too high but that’s the voltage when the vans not running. Can’t see how it either would effect it. Head scratcher.

Evening all, first ever post so go easy!
I decided to tackle the leisure battery on my van at the weekend. All went well and CTEK was working great showing charge on leisure battery. Fast forward to Monday night and I go to start the van but get ‘Stop Start Error’ turn off back on but the same. Just been to very independent specialist and they have scanned it, found no errors but I’ve still got the stop start error.
may this point they are as confused as me as the leisure battery is now disconnected, no vag com errors but still got the stop start issue.
I have just checked starter battery volts now home and engine on I’m getting 14.1 off 12.4 dropping to 12 after about 5 mins.
thoughts all? Have I inadvertently destroyed the starter battery?
Thanks

No nothing. Its been absolutely fine until Monday night when I started it and first got the message. I did have the battery disconnected all afternoon Sunday whilst I wired the leisure battery in. I was hoping garage would have picked something up tonight. I’m worrying about cable damage Under the cab mat and all sorts now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No got the actual error on the screen. Press stop start button and it comes up also.
the garage did a full test apparently and came back as ok?

The ctek looks like it's working correctly on the pic , when engine is off and keys out ignition ,does the ctek shut down ? ,You may get a standby light that is a quick flashing amber light but that should be all , also have you reconnected the voltage regulator back to negitive terminal on vans starter battery ?

The ctek boots up and shuts down as it should. I have now disconnected it to see if it was the cause but the error remains.
the voltage regulator is indeed connected and no error to indicate its failed. I’m racking my brains as to what I could’ve done to trigger this but can’t think of anything?!

Just had a thought, when I first plugged in the ignition live I went for a standard fuse on the left (SC 9) not a mini in the centre. I then left it for about 2 hours before realising my error and swapping to centre mini fuse. Whilst the piggyback was on the left and the van turned off, the left hand amber led was flashing and the right hand amber constant on the ctek?

Right that's a good start as you trace your steps back, had a look at the fault diagram for the ctek and that light shouldn't flash at all when working or if there is a fault so that's a new one , the only light that should flash is the error light top left , it may have been pulseing and not flashing if that makes sense as it's trying to draw power but isn't getn enough to work correctly as Ignition is off , am assuming you have checked the Fuses you have been at ? ,Also check main fuses under bonnet if you can , definitely sounds like unfortunately using the wrong pigy back fuse has caused the problem and your battery has possibly drained , do you have a mains battery charger that you can charged main van battery fully as when you said it's dropped to 12v after 5 mins is low ?

Yea, I’m going to pop a charger on it as like you say at 12v it is low! Can’t understand why it’s not taking the charge now though, when van is running the battery’s showing 14+ volts so looks like the alternator is doing what it should.
im still unsure as to why it took 24 hours for the fault to develop,.Still not sure there isn’t something else!
