Welcome new members

Thanks Bav, to be honest was originally looking at the 9 seats, but once swmbo saw the captain seat in the front of the 8 that was it. No wasnt looking for too long. As I posted in another thread about Broadway Vans, they always seem to have 8&9 seat LWB & SWBs in stock but they do turn them over pretty quickly.
Any plans or will you keep it as is?

Keep as is for now, its a family bus, me, wifey, 4 daughters so not really any scope or need for conversion. May look at adding c channel under roof rails for attaching awning but thats about it.

Yeah, they're an ideal family bus - hope you enjoy!

Hi, just joined - I don't have a van.. but I'm trying to navigate the minefield out there to get one. So I've been ready tons of stuff of Facebook groups and happened to come across this forum too, and looks like tons of info to dgest.

Looking for a T6/T6.1 as a gloried family mobile.. put the family and get about on a weekend, stick some bikes in or on the back. Maybe even a spot of camping in it, a full on camper I've decided isn't going to suit my needs and it usually pushes the prices up crazy too.

Morning!
Just back from a great Busfest weekend where we mentally burned through about £90k visualising our next van!!
We have a T5 right now but really want a T6.1, LWB, DSG, tailgate. Saw some stunning vehicles and chatted to some fantastic, knowledgeable people (Mr and Mrs Clayton - if you’re in here, sorry for disturbing your lunch)!!
Looked at the Californias too but they feel a little lacking in personality to me! No offence to Cali owners! We still may end up buying one.
Anyway, thanks for letting me join - I’ll be losing days just reading through this forum and exploring every rabbit hole there is!! Hopefully finding our new precious along the way!!

Welcome brother. ;)

Got any pics of your van or are you still searching?

Looking nice did you fit solar panel on roof? Love celling as well, mine still siting awaiting fo rem to decide what to do, just clean up all on back for now.

Yep, panel on the roof, kept profile and height same as roof bars so there’s not much on show at ground level.. Victron controller under drivers seat..

Hi everyone !
I am a fresh owner of a 2018 VW Transporter T6 2.0 TDI 110hp ;).
My plans are to fix a few little things from inside and outside, install the cruise control, transform it into a campervan, and rent it!
So I will try to show you the evolution, even if I am not superactive on forums nowadays...
But I always loved to learn and find information on my cars through forums. So, thank you to the ones who bring their knowledges  !

I also have a 2017 Mercedes Vito Cdi 115 fully camperized by myself + a 1998 Audi A4 B5 1.8T 150hp Quattro + a 1985 Audi Coupe Quattro 2.3L 136hp !

IMG_7909.jpegIMG_7986.jpegHi All!
Having been keeping an eye out for a van for a few years (due to the huge hike in values), my wife and I have at last managed to acquire a 2017, long wheelbase, high roof T6 with DSG. It's low mileage and was a lot less expensive than it might have been because the gelcoat on the GRP roof was breaking down badly (despite being factory fitted, supplied in body colour) and it had more than its fair share of dents.

Our plan is for a simple DIY camper conversion and our first steps have been to strip out the wheelchair lift and related clutter, tease the tinted film off the windows and have the dents and roof made good. A lot of paintwork was needed so we got a bit reckless with the retirement pot and had the whole thing painted in Pigeon/ Dove Blue (VW code L31), in homage to the very first VW vans. This colour was an original option in 1950 and ran for 17 or 19 years (not completed research on this yet - maybe someone on here knows more?).

Thanks for all the useful tips already picked up, and here's looking forward to some posts of our own!
