I've been given the run-around for almost two weeks solid trying to organise this 2yr/80k extended warranty.
VW clearly state on their website: "Our warranties are competitively priced and are easy to arrange with your local Van Centre".

In fact its far from "easy to arrange" and my local van centres have been no help whatsoever
I've spoken to five centres now and every one of them claims no knowledge of a "Factory Extended Warranty", and say that they have never supplied one.
They each refer me back to VW who refer me back to my local van centres, and the process repeats.
Ron at Hillside Leisure gave me the base van suppliers details, Imperial Commercials in Derby. I tried to arrange the Factory Extended Warranty with Imperial but again they claim no knowledge and that if there is such a thing, it would have to be done by VW finance. Why VW finance?
According to the VW website I have 90 days from first registration to apply, which I thought would be plenty of time. I'm now concerned that 35 days into ownership I still havent found anyone within the VW organisation or its dealership who has a clue what I'm talking about
I'm baffled as to how can their entire network be unaware of a product widely promoted by VW themselves!

LOL....... I feel your pain. im having similar fun and games with my local dealer.
went back in again about it the other day....
the sales guy printed out all the (in house) bits to look into it......
hes saying its:
£329 for years 4 and 5. BUT upto 80k max - or whatever comes first.....
or
£649 for years 4 and 5. BUT upto 150k max - or whatever comes first.....
it seems there is a lot of confusion as the dealer paperwork seems to compare the "factory extended warranty" to 3rd party insurance . . . . .he was saying "oh there is a £200 excess"..... and "its a £2500 max claim per item" - my reply was "no there isnt - its a factory warranty with NO excess or max limit"
but i think he was getting confused and that the paperwork was supposed to be a sales pitch to encourage selling the VW warranty at £329 or £629 (by comparing it to a stand alone 3rd party warranty)
i also saw that the "commission" for the dealer was £40 . . . . . . . so maybe not that encouraging for the dealers to offer.
its a no brainer for me @ £329 for years 4/5 (upto 80K) . . . . if it realy IS a extended warranty . . . . . but ended up leaving the dealer AGAIN with nothing in place.
hopefully next time ill be able to nail them down and get it arranged........................................
