What Have You Bought Today?

Nice... This has filled me with dread
.. I will have to pay someone to install mine..
To be honest it's not too difficult. There are loads of circuit diagrams around (especially on this forum). Take your time over the planning stage. Draw up a circuit diagram (pencil and paper is as good as anything) and a wiring list. Find few which have your components of choice then see what the differences are. Get the folks on here to comment on your thoughts and ideas. Pay close attention to cable sizes and fuse ratings. There are some pretty big currents involved with some of the cable runs so don't underestimate the size of cable and the size of cable. ANL fuses are BIG both in Rating and physically. You'll also need a hefty crimp tool, carious crimp sizes, and lots of heatshrink.

If you're not confident get a professional in, that's an auto electrician it's pretty specialist work.

Are you looking to sell your old ones? Im looking for set to paint

Can I ask if these are easy to fit? was thinking of buying one for a short term holiday boost to seating capacity
If you have the California/Caravelle rails the single seats are not too bad, they fold down into a reasonable size to manhandle in and out, just the usual precautions of not snagging anything.

I'm not sure I would regularly want to be lifting the removable sections of rails though, strikes me that you could end up with wear there or the removable alu sections not lining up neatly with the fixed.

great info thanks

Have a look here to see what's involved, the tip of lifting out the seat and rotating 90 degrees in the van and then lifting it to remove is key as it means you're not trying to do all the alignment and heavy lift in one move.

Yes pretty easy.
The trims come out & go in pretty easily

Yes they will show marks eventually, but they will anyway if you slide seats as much as we do

Basically fold a single flat, slide to the front (having taken the trims out) & lift out, the 4 feet locate into the 4 recesses in the rails when you want to put one in.

Yeah it's not that hard taking out the single seats, they're heavy but can be lifted by one person.

The silver tops only insert one correct way so hard to get wrong tbh.

Taking the headrest off is also recommended and/or sliding the front seat forward. Without that there's not enough room to slide the rear seat forward enough.
