Watching this closely , starting mine next week
Interesting to see the finished product under drivers seat
Great work

I started to fit my oriental diesel heater this afternoon, got the van front up on axle stands and levelling ramp, removed the plastic side under tray installed 6mm rivnuts and bolted the stainless steel plate up to chassis and mounted the heater. I bought the Eberspächer mounting plate and I had to elongate the bolt holes to marry up to my oriental heaters mounting threads. I have plenty of time so I’m not rushing the install will be doing it as and when the weather permits.

I'd recommend wrapping the electrical connection before you refit the trim covers. The connection corroded on mine in less than 12months. I ended up removing it but I'd say it would have lasted if I had wrapped it.

Done a bit more this afternoon fitted footwell hose and vent, drilled hole and galvanised painted under drivers seat for warm air hose.
Then hopefully tomorrow I will connect hoses to heater and fit air intake and exhaust pipe.

Is that vent not the angled outlet vent for the warm air into the cab? Is the other vent that you have a slimline flat one?34F728FD-A0DD-4AA7-BEA8-B3236C61825D.png
I know yours isn’t an Autoterm that was just a pic example off Google John.

I spent a couple of hours today connecting the inlet air and warm air ducts to the heater fitted air intake and stainless exhaust too, the weather let me down so I abandoned the install for today and pictures to follow.

Wish it was getting too hot here
You may think differently if you were here. You and I may have different thoughts on what is considered too hot. And too cold for that matter. Too cold for me is about 15°C, but I know it gets colder than that in other parts of the world.

Combustion air inlet looks just like the two I’ve used with no issues.

Presumably you are going to fit a duct to supply the heating air from inside the van?
Yes I’ll take supply from step and return under the driver seat
The top of the filter popped off and didn’t feel very sturdy hence my reluctance to use it , but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt and see then

I’m originally from SA so would welcome the Aussie heat
