Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

A wee overnighter to Ardgour and Morvern (turn left as it were S of Fort William and take the wee ferry W across the Corran Narrows) with one of my boys who very definitely asked to go away on an adventure and up a hill - which was nice.
And we had a cracking wee weather window in amongst the terrible summer weather.
And took advantage of it by going up the legendary (and very well named) Garbh Bheinn - it means Rough Mountain!

Remind me what the blue expanse is called - that bit where the rainclouds usually are.

Moved on towards Uig.

This is Cnip / Kneep, you have to phone to book.

The choice is View or EHU.

Edited it to say, we overtook a huge Winebago on the way here. It's called a 'Brave', and the driver is certainly a Braver man than me 'cos he's parked behind me, and I wasn't too happy with some of the roads here!

Weymouth - on my sons driveway as he has just changed the spare room ready to be a nursery.

This is one of the reasons we recently got the van and although been away with my youngest a few times, was my wife’s first trip. She was in the roof and now says we need another mattress up there!

Was great as he has an outside electric point and so got to use his electric for once

Our first trip in our new van. Not far, just into North Wales, Penmaenmawr. Two nights at a really good campsite with great views. Fish and chips and local beer and a test run of all the new things we’d bought. All worked out well and a bonus: on EHU it automatically heated a tank of water for us

@Anakin I believe you have a Hillside Birchover. The heated water isn't automatic. There is a switch in the side cupboard next to the seat where the consumer unit is, that turns it on and off. Expect it has just been left uni on. For longevity, better to just switch it on as and when you want it. It heats up very quickly.

A few nights down on the Surrey Sussex border on an estate that has a home for retired sailors. Managed to setup yesterday in gale force winds but just about in between the rain showers, we did get caught on the way to the pub last night though. No issues today. Will head to the bar up at the house later to watch the football

Yes, that’s our van. I found a big white switch, under a fuse panel, that was indeed switched on. It’s off now. Thanks for the advice.

We drove from home in Gloucestershire to the tunnel and had to go around the closure of the M4 at Reading which was a pain in the aris but perhaps not as bad as it could have been. Now camped at La Bien Assise for one night and still have to decide where we're heading for tomorrow (and the next 4 weeks) - maybe a few glasses of vin rouge tonight might inspire us. At the moment, I'm pushing for the South but the camp commandant seems to be favouring heading towards northern Spain - we will see what the weather forecasts are tomorrow.La Bien.jpg

@cgtmiles Is that Springbok? I’ve been meaning to try there, but I’ve heard that they have clay pigeon shooting nearby and that would spook my dog, so haven’t booked.
