Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

We drove from home in Gloucestershire to the tunnel and had to go around the closure of the M4 at Reading which was a pain in the aris but perhaps not as bad as it could have been. Now camped at La Bien Assise for one night and still have to decide where we're heading for tomorrow (and the next 4 weeks) - maybe a few glasses of vin rouge tonight might inspire us. At the moment, I'm pushing for the South but the camp commandant seems to be favouring heading towards northern Spain - we will see what the weather forecasts are tomorrow.View attachment 246387
Chase the sun. See the weather in Le Man's has been pretty shit.

The weather in the south is great at the moment for the looks good for the foreseeable.

I also drove from home in Gloucestershire to the tunnel and then Bien Assise, but I left on Friday so missed the roadworks. The weather in France is horrible until around Brive, then it improves no end. Enjoy the trip.

We were meant to be going back to france sometime about now but work has changed and its all been postponed until the end of the year .
By that time france will be cold and crap (like england) so it'll be a quick drive through and straight to spain .

I love your relaxed flexible just-go and decide where to go approach... it means you can flex depending on the weather etc...

@cgtmiles Is that Springbok? I’ve been meaning to try there, but I’ve heard that they have clay pigeon shooting nearby and that would spook my dog, so haven’t booked.
Yes, they shoot on the 1st and 3rd Sundays which yesterday was but we walked to the stretches and fired cafe for breakfast then set off on a walk from there to a pub for lunch so we were 3/5 miles away by the time when they started shooting but we could definitely hear it from where we were.

Sir roger tichborne pub for lunch, very nice

We survived 2 days in the cooler and now home.

It’s a nice site with some nice walks arounds about. Toilets facilities are limited but totally adequate although we showered in the cooler above each day but that would have been tough if it was a little colder especially as the single ladies shower wasn’t working. Pitches are unallocated and there is no sign in/reception or anyone on site over weekends, things were fine for us but it could be an issue if things go sideways. We would definitely visit again if we visited places a second time

That's just down the road from me, never even knew there was camping there

Yes, that’s our van. I found a big white switch, under a fuse panel, that was indeed switched on. It’s off now. Thanks for the advice.
And make sure that there is water in the tanks and running through the hot tap before you switch it on. Heating it up dry will burn out the element
