Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

DSC_6041.JPG

VW Trafford Park.

MOT and minor service with the All-in-one plan, and £570 for cambelt, water pump and tensioner.

EDIT: just seen on the video they send through that they priced the Cambelt work at £647 (this might be the price for non All-in-one customers, or where it wasn't booked in beforehand?)

Need to book mine into Manchester van centre. Interesting to see what they quote me. IIRC when I took the all in with them last year, they said they offer a discount on the cam belts etc.

@Trouts. I sometimes 'struggle with the price' as I firmly believe that some stuff costs more than it should simply because it's VW and / or camper related (but 'er indoors says it's just because I'm getting tight in my old age!). However, I've also got a Railsail which I've posted about on here before and IMHO it's definitely worth the asking price. I got mine as a bargain from another forum member but if I lost it today, I'd order a replacement at full price straight away.
@Trouts personally I think so. It is very versatile and I take it on every trip. The adjustable poles are from go outdoors and also work well.

cheers guys,
great feedback* thank you for taking the time to reply.

*(mainly for justifying it to Mrs Trouts! - who also tells me i'm a tight @r$e quite regularly @Ayjay)
yeah, the more i hear the more it's looking like i'll have to fork out...

That would make sense then, so £75 discount for the All-in-one plan.

I asked for a price on this when I was in vw last visit (mine due June) and I can’t remember what it was exactly but I’m sure it started with a 6.

Did you get the parts paid for in the all in plan then? Or how comes the £75 discount?

Not sure really, just quoted the £570 to change them, and saw it was £645 on the video web page they send when you click on the link, when they ask you to authorise the work.

I'll try to decipher the bill when I get home!

Stealth camping in a carpark in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders. Need some sort of windscreen cover which doesn't scream "camping!" as the silver reflective insulated covers really do that.

Tomorrow is a long day, 309km cycle ride before I get back here.

I use the silver screen when on a campsite. But use a black blackout internal screen cover when stealth camping. Looks lovely and comfy BTW :inlove:

Currently in Devon at Harford Bridge Park , arrived 20 minutes before dark and putting up an awning that 1. Brand new 2. Never set up before 3. Using an awning rail I just put on 2 days ago 4. Terrible 6 hour journey 5. Being a bumbling buffoon ……… it all went swimmingly and I never swore once , or threw my toys down and MrsD never threatened to serve divorce papers with immediate effect . Pure bliss…….

Back home now after 18:30 on the road, Galashiels Biggar Sanquhar Moffat, Longtown Eskdalemuir Galashiels. My van needs a really good tidy but my legs are telling me to stay on the sofa today...

We arrived in San Gimignano on Friday, stopping just outside (San G in the background)

I cannot believe just how shit the roads are in Italy, whether it is the motorways, or their equivalent of A and B roads.I will never complain about the UK roads again. They are truly shocking.
