Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

I’ve been to @Absolut5 and left my van in the supremely capable hands of Jason and Noel. Big upgrade coming for the leisure electrics. Reversing camera too. There will be some before and after photos to follow.

Jason and Noel have been really busy. My van is coming along nicely. It’s not finished yet, but they are nearly there. We’ll be picking it up on Wednesday.
Here’s the before photo of the seat base install coming out removing the AGM battery and CTEK etc and the new install across the two seat bases. It will be an off grid monster when it’s done.

All looks very tidy, compact and contained. Is their a description for the uninitiated:)?

Mines been sitting on the drive for quite a while.
Concern about the state of both vehicle and leisure batteries spurred me onto giving the van a run.
Jumped onto the M62 J23 which was surprisingly quiet and headed west past the farm in the middle of the motorway onto Milnrow. Came back to Hudds over the moors, back on the 62 at J24 then a short boot east and off at Brighouse. Round the roundabout and back on back to J24 and home.
Put some charge back in the batteries but maybe needs a day trip out to top them back up.

Been past that farm many a time….thats near the famous road sign…M62 Highest Motorway in England …if it helps we charge batteries with a small Ctek often during cooler months….the vans are very power dependent….Only issue this time of year on the back roads …is ….you’ve got to clean the van again :eek:
But up and down dale ..great scenery …What’s not to love ….Be happy go drive. :)

After two strenuous walks and a poor weather forecast, decided to take it easy.

Base Camp Farm Shop and Cafe, on the A66 towards Penrith.

I'm not a connoisseur (Mrs CAB most certainly is :slow rofl:) but it was well stocked even though quite small. The bacon was heavenly, perfectly cooked and ever so soft.

Then a drive along Ullswater to Pooley Bridge, just 'cos I've never been.

Finally home, and in time for the first clean of the year.

As previously announced and with weather conditions favourable, me, the Mrs and the Dubdog had a jaunt down the M1to Clumber Park.
Beautiful day for a walk round the lake after the van brew.
Finished with special hot choccy (with cream and mini marshmallows!) and a chocolate chip cookie from the cafe.
Really busy down there today plus lots of Dubs spotted and even a few waves!
Top day out, dog now knackered and van batteries looking much healthier!

Took the van for its first outing …and on the way out of Warrington pulled up next to Mr Hoops @Leehoops …( but not in a van I remember)
Ps …nice to see you all being a fleeting glance

So ended up at this country park

Monday had a run to Whitby for fish and chips from the Magpie cafe, then up the coast to Saltburn by the sea, we spent the night on the council car park, parking bays for campers plus free from 6pm to 8am
We love a trip to Saltburn. The road by the station has a few real ale bars and a pub that has a wood fired pizza place inside.
Great for a night out in the van.
