Hi Steve,
As I say, I`m happy with the ride height, and yes, you`re right about 20" rims, but just commenting on other posts, it isn`t noticeable to me (other than lower) that it has had all the suspension units replaced for a better ride. I couldn`t justify the drive for a look over to be fair -7 hr round trip (Thank you for the offer), and I`ll have to wait until the tyre profile is increased or I go down a rim size to see if that helps. The rears springs are partly spring bound but I`m guessing that you realise this is usual on a camper.

Yes the rear springs do have a dual rate and therefore sit coil on coil at one end , this is normal even for a non camper ..

A big thank you to Steve from @CRS Performance - I took up his advice with the KONI Special Active shocks and it's like night and day. Also sorted me out with getting the right spacers to level out the rear.

All the harshness is gone, much less leaning/swaying when turning. All the bumps are still there but they don't travel up to my bum and spine anymore.

Edit: the ride is quieter too and some noisy bumpy roads are now silent and very smooth.

I did report in my own recent visit to see Steve @CRS Performance in 'Where have you been' but I will also echo @dj_ here. His matches my experience exactly. I've not yet loaded the back with all the kit for a 3-4 week trip away so I don't know what impact that will have on the rear end but I have every confidence that all will be OK as Steve definitely knows his stuff.

Hi @CRS Performance I have a T28 running Bilstein B4 shocks and standard springs and the ride is not the best. Would Koni active shocks be ok with ATT tyres, running 225/65/17 on modular steels? Thank
Hi, I’ve recently had the Koni special actives fitted to my van by @CRS Performance and they are a big upgrade, my van is a full conversion running standard height on general grabber AT 3s 235 65 17 i can’t compare to the Bilstein B4 shocks but the van now handles a lot better and the comfort is also a big improvement.

Ah nice, glad to hear that, think I just need to get some ordered now. Thanks for the reply

Hi @CRS Performance which are the best KONI dampers for a 6.1 T32 4motion SWB on factory springs/ride height? (& price please shipped in UK)

Short of re-reading the whole thread I can’t remember whether it’s the sport or special active:rolleyes:

HI there

If the intention is to leave the height standard then the Special active is the way to go by far , this is the most comfortable you can make a Transporter actually

Yes @CRS Performance I want ground clearance back without lifting so the intent is to stay at factory std height. Also having ADAS issues with current -40mm H&R & B8’s fitted by converter.

Could you PM me a £ delivered please as need VW CV main dealer to fit WRT ADAS calibration.

This is van currently & front valance is constantly grounding etc…

I’m interested in Steve’s response to this one as I’d be surprised is the work done by @CRS Performance would invalidate the VW warranty on ADAS. That said, wouldn’t VW argue that your converter had already invalidated such warranty?

@JOG The converter is one of the VW approved ones (not naming at this stage) as we believe Autoglass are the cause of the ADAS issue, as the windscreen has been replaced by them & won't subsequently re-calibrate for them or my local VW CV main agent.
The ADAS worked before the screen was replaced i.e. after the conversion & suspension change (which was done for a director of Marshalls' VW Vans who ran the van for 6 months before I bought it) & VW CV main dealer are happy with that aspect as they lower loads of vans/cars with ADAS and never have this issue.

It's my personal choice to go back to std height for ground clearance but don't want to use the crappy factory dampers (which I have) hence asking @CRS Performance about the Koni's . It's just it will possibly help WRT ADAS calibration

Ah! Apologies, yes, I remember the finger pointing with the replacement windscreen. I know that @CRS Performance do supply only and provide support to your preferred workshop! (No, I am not affiliated!)

We haven't come across any issues with the ADAS or ACC on transporters so far , lowering them and keeping the rake standard cant affect them i am sure ,
As any one else picked up issues from Lowering ??
VW lower vans all time and to be honest they are nt that good at it , but if it did affect anything they surely wouldn't be doing it ??
