10 out of 10 for the VW Assist guy Terry . . . called him out for the VAN, - which he was deali9ng with,

so i moved the BUS over a few feet to give him better access, then spotted these new oil spots.

i asked is he could have a quick look,

which he did, then offered to raise a new job for the second van,

and managed to get this van recovered to VW, with a loan motor from Enterprise,

great service. . . .

he thinks the oil is leaking from the DSG Mechatronic cover,

possibly due to it being knocked or dented when the DSG box was last in/out/in/out/in/out/in/out/in/out/ . . . . .

after prevuoi9sly having the DMF replaced, which them lead to a DSG oil leak from the DSG oil cooler,

we believe that they disconnected the cooler to drop the box,

where as the book says split the coolant circuit and leave the cooler on the box. .

anyway the cooler was leaking oil . - so they ended up having the van back again a couple of times to sort it.

in the end they done a DSG service as good will etc.

well - now the DSG is leaking, but from a different place.

its not all doom and gloom . . . . .

before the DSG started leaking, we had a great long weekend with the Van.

finaly got the Dog a Dryrobe. . .

1723658675846.png
.

started a Trip to Wales, that was supposed to take 4.5hrs.

1723658720404.png
.

that actually took 7hrs . .

1723658759602.png
.

we tried out an awsome new POP-UP side awning, . . takes 2mins to setup.

1723658833911.png1723659107962.png
.

we took a ride on a steam train,

1723658887307.png1723659085193.png
.

see the Big Pit,

1723658914264.png
.

had beers with friends,

1723658949141.png
.

see some lakes, , ,

1723658993245.png
.

went out on the town. . .

1723659061419.png
.

drove 2.5hrs to Dorsit,

1723659143646.png
.

with another 2min setup,

1723659169891.png
.

had beers, , ,

1723659228412.png
.

went to the beach,

1723659281914.png

.
see the local towns,

1723659311015.png
.
had the best Fisg & Chips eva,

1723659433586.png

1723659339838.png
.

the 5hr drive back via Boomtown,

1723659386441.png

.
we had a great weekend,

and has only been possible with the van. . . (versus my previous setup with the work van and massive tent)

we have a new quick setup, that enables drive away functionality.

its as quick as a Brit-Stop, so setup in under 10 mins.

with the benefit of a full drive away awning setup.

worked great,

credits go to @czmate1999 and @True Romance for the setup idea and advice on the setup,

UPDATE:

parts have been fitted, but apparently the DSG box is still leaking?

by all accounts the garage is following the "Guided fault finding."

the next step is,

wait for it,

almost there,

you ready,

your not going to believe this. . . .

.....

a NEW DSG GEARBOX. !!!!

just cant believe it. . .

+++++

after bring told that the other VAN may need a new engine this week too.

and were being told that its all covered under our ALL-In warranty.

so, looks like we may be getting a new DSG gearbox, and all covered under warranty?

+++++++++

life is so colourful in the VW T6 Transporter world - but i wouldn't have it any other way.

so far this ALL-In warranty cover has proved priceless.

sure. . .

its the Outdoor Revolution - Screenhouse 6 DLX

(the DLX is the Pro model that me and Neil have - which includes the fitted side blinds.)

(they do a cheaper version that has no sides fitted , but can be bought as extras)

called them out, about 7 times across the two vans,

and have had 3 different VW guys(that were all great) and 1x AA guy (that was usless)

.
my experiences are the same.

5 call outs three different guys all very knowledgeable and customer friendly, can't fault them

T6 Family, i need some help.

@mmi @Pauly @Loz and others that can find TPI`s

apparently there is a TPI that covers this T6 DSG leaking oil problem.

the garage know about it, but wont tell me the specifics,

and the warranty office know about it - but wont tell me the specifics.

+++++++++

it relates to a T6 DSG gearbox leaking oil - from a internal crack. - that leaks externally.

and the TPI apparently states "that a bolt is to be replaced, and a sealant is to be used."

+++++++++

it seems that my DSG box has had this work done, but the box still leaks, so the garage is pushing for a new box. ( as you can get the DSG casing separately, only a whole gearbox)

by all accounts then the bolt is tightened up its pushing the crack open - hence the leak.

apparently, the DSG casing is thin at this point, and the a crack can form, and leak.

the TPI bolt + sealant should fix most cases. . . but not mine.

so im trying to locate the TPI that relates to this issue to try and get to the bottom of things.

the garage and warranty office are having a 2&8 and now looks like the 3rd party Tech team are getting involved.

That sounds like the classic leaking top bolt that is replaced and stuck in place with some kind of sealant ?

The only access I have to TPIs is Elsa via Erwin, it’s only a few quid an hour to access but I’m happy to have a search for you if you want me to

That would be awesome if you don't mind?

Knowing the full details of the TPI might enable me to understand what's going on.

The garage are saying the have done the TPI repair, but it's still leaking, so are applying for a new DSG box. ( Circa £8k worth of parts )

Warranty are saying the want evidence of where the leak is coming from. As they don't want to payout or a new box, unless it's proper knackered.

The garage are saying it's internal, . . . So can't provide evidence.

The warranty ppl are now saying that the garage has to get the VW tech team (the VW HO gestapo ) called out to the garage to asses and varify what's being said. (Basically to mediate between the garage and warranty ppl)

So ATM we are stuck in the middle.
