Update:

VW Tech team have been sent pics, and are now booked in to visit the garage on 1st Oct to see whats what.

warranty office should get the report 24hrs later, we should then have an answer / outcome from that point.

New DSG Box -- or -- a DSG glue and sticky plaster????

.
UPDATE:

The VW Tech crew descended upon the garage and Bus.

long story short short the new DSG box has been authorised.

and the garage can proceed with the repair (fitting a new DSG box as a complete unit). - yay !!

now the only problem is the DSG box is on "back order" with no ETA available yet . . . . BOOO !!

.

so well be sticking with the loaner for a while yet.

so looks like the other loaner is also a DNAB. with a 5SPM

2.0 TDI CR - DNAB - 81kw/110ps

nice engine to be fair. . . but the 5spm is a nightmare,

defiantly needs a 6sp.

cruising at 70 does my head in. . . constantly going to shift up, but there is no more up.

Very interesting thread @Dellmassive , it was fun to read your journey! I'm looking at an ovano as wel but I'm not sure I would go for xl or narrow, because I want to fit a water system. But maybe something like this wil fit next to the outer frame of the xl drawer of the ovano?1000033044.png1000033045.png

A T6.1 footwell - why would they remove a left foot resting place!!!
Yeh on the DSG.

But once you get used to it it's better..
You can stretch you leg right out.

But agree at first it's annoying.

If you really can't get used to it, try this:-

Update: paperwork, ALL-IN covering the DSG gearbox.

DSG failed repair.

At the mo remote on/off and therm up to 32 then down to 8 deg once up to temp or for overnights.
Currently looking at an remote RF sender unit that can run via zigbee or matter to link into Home Assistant when at home so if outside temp <x at x-time then switch on (for work) and switch off at x-time just like the home heating works.
I think you have wifi in your van so you could remote in from a phone and possibly automate it too.
