Roamer Lithium LiFePO4 Seatbase battery

Thanks Steve think 30mm in this case will make a decent difference.
I like a challenge when it comes to making things fit.

Great thread - leads me to think moving from gas.
the induction hob suggestions have either been stand alone, or the Thetford 902 ( out of my price bracket)
what other single integrated hob have people installed .
who supplies the Steba units in UK?
thanks

Any induction hob should work and I'm struggling to see any difference between the £100 models and the £500 Thetford. I usually recommend the 'plug in 13A' ones as these have power management built in - basically it will limit the power draw to a maximum of 13A which equals 2990W. Turn one hob on and it'll give you (for example) 2400W but turn both on and it'll spread the load across the two hobs ie 1500W each. Also worth noting that even the cheapest models seem to have power factor correction built in meaning 3kVA = 3kW.

A perfectly sized setup would be a Roamer battery (250A max discharge), a Victron Multiplus II 12/3000-120 and a 13A induction hob

3kW draw from induction hob = 3kVA at PF of 1.0
3kVA inverter will draw 250A from battery
Roamer batteries can deliver 250A continuous
Multiplus delivers 120A charge to top it up again

I’ve gone for a normal plug in portable induction hob. Yet to try it out though.

I use normal plug to inverter without problem, drawing 60 to 180 amps depending on power of cooker and go from 100% down to 70% for lunch and evening meal. Well worth it. Will spend this year playing with it and may remove gas hob and fit new induction hob. Solar here is good and with 200watt panel on roof and 100watt freestanding (total 15amps) can go back up to 100% by early afternoon or next drive takes around 1 hour for fully charge with B2B ready for lunch...........

I notice you have children in the photo and the nice thing about induction hob is safety as remove pan, and it goes off and hot plate whilst warm can be touched. great for kids and pets. No flame.......

Just working through some options how best to secure it.

Steve.....@RoamerBatteries, buddy could you please confirm the dimensions of the gen 2 battery for me? I'm easily confused.....the above diagram says 305.. 290W 180MM h
the website 330X280X180mm.

Many many thanks I'm trying to squeeze too much under my T5 seat's Steve tis going to be very tight, I can't afford to purchase just yet but have been tracking your seatabse deign for a goodly while........I believe next shipment is end of may?

I might make a mock up in wood of your battery so I can get my head around fitting everything in before Ii can actually nab a battery, so I'd really like to clear up my confusion

take care

Hey Stu, so the next version of the Seatbase battery (due in May) has a slightly tweaked design. We had some issues with the handles on last one so these have now moved to the side. We also found the new T6.1 seatbase is slightly narrower so we’ve shifted the BMS to the front. This has allowed us to reduce width to 280mm but length is now 330mm.

G'day Steve how the devil are you? Cheers for the speedy reply....................I don't have a T6.1 Steve just a really old T5, mind damn they made her well........ old lass constantly amazes me

Anyways the design tweak size wise ( width wise) might just work in my favour. We'll see. thanks for clearing this up for me. I don't post here much as I don't have a T6 tis kinda awkward. But I've had my heart set on Li Fe PO4 for a goodly whiile. so have been lurkiing avidly watching Del's threads especially and trying to assiimilate Ha I 'm probably making the slowest set of camper units know to man .maybe a year in now. It's complete madness sort of old skool wood.

It's cool to finally speak to you kiddo.........your lump will be paired to a smallish victron inverter 1200 pheonix VE direct 20A vic mains batt charger 150 wallt PV with 75/15 vic mppt and orion TR smart 12 12 30 B2B and BMV 712. We'll cook on a wallas XC duo I make piccies of wildlife so I don't envisage a need for high amp draw want the redundancy of 200plus AH and the battery chemisty to be able to charge fast. The inverter is really an add on for little creature comforts like charging camera batteries .....we are simple in our needs

Cheers for the heads up and the image of the newest design tweak Ii'm sure I'll bother you more at some stage:D

Steve @RoamerBatteries could you give me the dimensions of the cut out please where the lugs are....I want to make an accurate wood mock up of your battery as I have Rib seat swivels on both seats in my T5 and it looks really tight..........This might govern under which seat I can fit the battery

many thanks

stu

@RoamerBatteries Steve .could you possibly answer the question above for me ASAP I need the missing dimensions from your above diagram of the newest version Seatabase....................... I need to know how long the top is front to back ie the length sitting at 180mm and how deep the base of the terminals sit top to bottom.

I am part way through making the rear wood panels for my seatbases.they will carry an isolator one side and a 12V 12way DC fuse box on t'other and a cig lighter 12V socket on each panel........ i'm slightly picky OCD call it what ya like.:D..........so i'm knocking up a mock battery so I can work out which side batt will live........... my drivers and passenger rib swivles sit at different heights the mock up batt will really help until such tiime as I get my grubby mits on a real battery and I'm desparate to crack on

Maybe I should illustrate picky..these are affectionately known as the bread bins just a simple set of overhead lockers which took me an age to craft as I'm not a chippy well here's one side anyways......they work much to my amazement hung off an offcut ( planned a year back) of my oak worktop............. walnut catches and edges pulled from a bonfire.....I'm on a bit of a mission here !!

I'd really appreciate those dimensions bro so desparate to keep pushing

thank you:)
