VW closes T6.1 order book today (3/3/23) !!!! - T7 Next? or T8?

Rivet and glue is just fine.

I was referring to the generally appalling quality that comes out of MB's Spanish factory where the Vito is slung together.

I know on the ford version of this van you can spec the AWD version in a couple of models, maybe VW will introduce it later on,
On the VW 6.1 you could only spec a 4M startline with the 150 engine, and not with the 110
The 'Leader' spec is the same as VW commerce and no AWD option on that either. Goodbye startline 4motion vans.

Sadly the new Transit has gone the Haldex route for their AWDs rather than the proper selectable drivetrains of yore.

Yes I had a look at a new Vito before I bought my 6.1 and the build quality was appalling

They were proper serious tools off road.

Shame they rusted faster than a Russian dustbin.

The new Transporter with the 170PS auto does 0-60 in about 14 seconds, compared to the 6.1 DSG 204bhp, which is 8.9 seconds. The T7 vans absolutely gutless, and if you opt for the silly electric version to align with the government’s mission to ruin the automotive industry (which they're doing a brilliant job of with net zero), you’ll end up with similar performance to the 6.1, but in a much heavier van. Once these are fully kitted out for work or conversion, the overall weight will be ridiculous. Good luck with those forged electric range figures! I’ll stick to my 6.1, thanks.

I’ve had a hybrid the last couple days to try out and the power is quite impressive, 232ps through a CVT box = max power at all times pretty much
The instant oomph of electric with the range of ICE, have to say I’m sold, only prob now is VW haven’t released the hybrid yet so do I hang on another 12 months or go for the transit custom PHEV (which what I test drove)

When I was looking to buy I went to see a 6.1 in Essex and another in Kent. A bit of a journey so I went on my 'busa to dispatch the trip on each occasion as quickly as possible.

Even the high output ones felt dog slow after that, so I was happy to settle for the mechanical simplicity of a 110 without feeling I'm missing out.

When you're accustomed to warping time with each twitch of the throttle it doesn't matter how quick any of them go, they're all slugs. It's in the eye of the beholder.
