Went to IKEA and picked up one of these. They fold in the middle so it can be left on the Kombi bed all the time. Slightly longer than others which suits me fine and the width seems snug. Seemed comfortable enough when we tried it out in store. Time will tell.

Wolf Shield Carbon Monoxide Detector (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01DJDQGMA?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details). We've a kombi/day van, so really only for diesel heater. Selection criteria were that it needed to be discreet and black so as to blend with anthracite carpet. Fitted today and it fits the bill. Sits above the Vanshades pod, and doesn't protrude beyond.

Unfortunately, this has now meant I'm racking my brains as to what else can be stored in this niche above the Vanshades pod and the headliner. Possibly some 3D lettering, gutter clips for holding USB lights or simply bungee for phones, cables etc.
