What Have You Bought Today?

A Mattress topper for the RIB bed.
Still more to get, but getting there.
A bad move, I keep getting reminded it stinks! I appreciate memory foam needs off gassing, and lying it out flat to enable this is the way forward, but OH wants it bundled away, I despair, wasted money unfortunately, total stalemate in more ways than one!

This arrived today to accompany the bluetooth module that arrived on Saturday. The battery was a bit of a surprise as the last email that I had from Amazon at the weekend told me that it had been despatched but wouldn't be arriving until 27 July. Just got to wait for the Ctek charger to turn up later this week and the work to install it all can begin.

Good chance its coming from China. My Renogy inverter did, hopefully the battery manual is more useful than the inverter manual.

Not so much bought but realised.

If you want to intuitively understand what a T6.1 smart alternator is doing - plug in an electric coolbox and listen to the fan speed :geek:

Came back from a weekend away and tried powering up our basic Camping Gaz coolbox rather than relying on ice packs as usual and it was fascinating (if you're of a geeky mindset) hearing the fan throttle up and down with the voltage and watching what the engine was doing - I could really hear it shoveling charge in doing what felt like engine braking and then dropping right back at most other times.

I know you can sort of see it from plug in voltage displays but being able to hear it while watching the road and the dash was much better. Watching the DSG change down to get the revs up downhill I've got a much better understanding of why it does that now. I'm slightly amazed at how much the alternator seems to be idling frankly.

Currently at a converters having an extra two seat brackets to the drivers side of the third row in my shuttle so that I can have a fully flexible seat set up - love the single seats of these models.

As it is having various wiring amendments and a sub/amp installed and the dash plastics are coming out again this time I have treated myself to a set of lower Titan black panels to replace all the grey ones. Id love to do the door cards but that is a slippery slope as then I need x2 sliding door cards as well (I already black rear panels in the loft that I got from marketplace when they popped up).

Oh yeh and bought a couple of mounts for my VanFi set up for the iphone so it can sit in a cradle to charge and be easily accessible.

o_O Those aren't camping pegs, those are rebar!!!
We have similar for the Burgundian canvas tent, solid iron by a bloke nick named The Iron Dwarf. Takes about 40 of them if you are rigging for wind, but we've never had it move.

If you're not driving your pegs in with a 4lb lump hammer you're not taking it seriously.

Maybe some day we'll bring it to a meet

Uh-oh! As previously mentioned, that's my destination of choice this coming weekend.

Remind me again why they call it The Devil's Mouth...?
The first swallow should give it away!

Then again, one swallow does not a summer make…..but it does cheer me up!

I was looking into an Android CarPlay radio for my shuttle but after someone else suggested it I have bought an Apple iPad Pro 11 with a suction mount for in the van. Plus I can take it elsewhere when I'm out and about, and use it for films in the rear when camping.

Finally taking the big leap and turning the van from a komi into a camper of sorts!

Just put a deposit on a Rusty Lee full width R&R bed. Also just purchased some new flooring as need to get rid of the oem runner one. Be nice having a proper bed in the van!
