T6 Aftermarket Digital Instrument Cluster

I've been thinking about how the cruise control works on stock cluster vs this digital one. When you press Set and then up and down in the stock cluster I'm sure it used to jump to the nearest divisor of 5mph. So if you set at 37mph and press up it jumps to 40mph, not 42mph. Only perhaps that's why people see differences between requested speed and actual?

Can someone with stock cluster test this?
You are correct. Stock you had option of +/- 1mph or +/- to nearest speed ending in 0 or 5 deping on MFSW button used. New cluster in my experience is +/- 1mph most of the time but sometimes it doesn't register and next press jumps 2mph and the side/side buttons that would change it to nearest 0 or 5 always add/subtract 5mph so 67mph now goes to 72mph.

As someone who literally drives for 4hours without touching the pedals it's made it a little bit different but to be fair it's not a big concern for me.

Well if it isn't showing the same requested speed as the stock cluster (which is still there doing the actual work) then it's a bug.

If the speed calibration is set to zero, is there still a difference between the speedo reading and the CC set speed?

I wonder if it's applying the calibration adjustment to the speedo but not the CC

On another note, I don't think my washer fluid low warning is working...... I ran out today with no warning on the dash.

Interesting. My calibration is set to 6 too so my speedo matches my GPS, however the CC speed is 2-3mph slower

Potentially the digi cluster is showing the wrong requested speed due to the rounding issue I mentioned. The digital dash is just a display, your original cluster PCB is doing all the real work and if that's requested 45mph but the digi dash is showing you requested 48mph then that's why it will look wrong?

I don't know how the systems work, but I would hope the digi dash can retrieve the actual requested CC value.

I checked my fuel gauge again with VCDS and the IC shows me 5l more than is actually in the tank...

I don't think 5L is a small amount!

This came from the technician:

Fill the vehicle with fuel, enter the refillable
capacity, check the remaining amount, and
fill the remaining amount into the fuel tank

Who knows how I can fix it?

Does it show a different litre value if you use another setting? I would imagine the litre value is just so it knows where the maximum is. The only way I can think this is wrong is if they were converting it somehow. Like that gallons bug.

Great idea !
But how to verify ?

Change units to US gallons. Then convert the US gallons value in the digi dash to litres yourself? the bug was they weren't aware there were US gallons and UK gallons. So using US gallons should be reporting the right value.

Tnx for the input

Gonna to try it tomorrow :)

I've been out in mine tonight, 70L tank (T6 euro 6) It was saying refuel 31 litres remaining. Added 40 and it says it's full now.

I also used one of those speed signs to see if I had the speed calibration correct, but it was over-reading. Set the adjustment back to 0 and it's spot on now. I think the CC speed issue is because the speed limit value it is showing as not what has been set. I guess for how we'll have to increase it until it speedo is the right value.

Refuel Quantity:46l
Remaining: 24l
And I fill 52,3l into fuel tank

Digital instrument clust shows 6,3l too much in fuel gauge

@antony.charnley can you help?

How do you know your tank is 70L? The only way I could find out for sure was to completely fill it and look at VCDS. Sure you’ve not got an 80L tank like mine?

I looked at VW's PR list that I received when I purchased it!
